The machinations of the Fey have always been the stuff of legend, but to see something so elaborate and complex first-hand was... remarkable. They certainly know how to put on a show.
As I write this, I'm recovering from the beating of my life. My new 'Familiar', Mac III is sitting on the end of my bed in Fort Ffirst staring at me with those dead eyes. He's only been here a few days and I already can't stand him. He looks like a raven but he's so obviously a demon sent by my patron to keep an eye on me. I wish he would go away, but my first attempt to kill him failed, and even Felix's stray lightning bolt couldn't end him in the middle of a fight. So I suspect I'm stuck with Mac until I die. And probably after I die, too. Starting to wonder if this pact was such a great idea.
The inscrutable machinations of the Fey court were rudely interrupted by an attack from some outside forces who presumably did not agree with the process taking place. I remember reading of a great white palace in a distant land that was attacked in much the same way in protest at an election, lead by a man bearing great furred cloak with mighty horns. Clearly history is doomed to repeat itself.
We took it upon ourselves to rescue a forest spirit from the encroaching darkness during the unseelie attack. Felix took the lead, and us less experienced adventurers appreciated his capabilities. Anwyn took charge of handling the forest spirit, and Kelne was instrumental in the plan that hoisted the creature to safety. We arrived at the top of an enormous tree, as the essence of Air and Darkness swirled around us thick with malice. There we were attacked by agents of shadow. Kelne and I held the line against an army of darklings while Felix and Anwyn dealt with a servant of the Queen of Air and Darkness herself. With the exception of Felix, we all came close to death, but through teamwork and ingenuity we stopped the ritual to corrupt the heart of the sacred tree and emerged bruised but victorious.
I claimed the wand from the Shadow Sorcerer myself, but will be sure to study it carefully before using it. Nothing is as it appears in the Fey.
