Hello! While you're here setting up your new PC for their warm Kantas welcome, you may as well make sure your Forum signature is correct 👍
Use the template below for best result. For more information on why you need a correct signature, please see the Rumour & Signup Rules post.
How to create/update your Forum signature:
- Log in to your Forum account.
- Click “Profile” in the top menu, followed by the “Edit Profile” button on the right hand side.
- Choose the “Personal” tab and scroll down to the text box labelled “Signature”.
- Copy-Paste the following text into the text box, removing the bolded text and replacing the information as needed:
Character: Oziah Daybreaker - Lvl 5 Fallen Aasimar Vengeance Paladin
Discord: Lykksie
Please ensure that your signature includes PC name, race, class levels and DDB sheet, as well as your discord username.
Multiclassed characters are best written out as total PC level and not broken down into class levels. "Level 12 fighter/barbarian" is easier to read than "Fighter 3/Barbarian 9".
- Make sure to get the Shareable Link for your DnD Beyond character sheet.
- Click “Save Personal Settings”. Done!
If you need help with creating/updating your signature, please don’t hesitate to ask a DM or in #Kantas-General 💜
When creating your character sheet on DnDBeyond, please follow these steps: (as typed out by our ever-helpful Jamie J 💙)
Before anything else, make sure the character you're making is in one of the LRC's numbered campaigns on D&D Beyond. Then, in the 'home' tab of the character creator, choose the following settings.
Sources
Switch on:
Homebrew Content – to make sure you can access any homebrew items that Kantas DMs create
Magic: The Gathering Content – although the MTG sourcebooks are not Kantas-legal, some of the same content is reproduced in Tasha's cauldron and is therefore permitted, and you need to switch this on to access it
Eberron Content – same reason
Noncore D&D Content – so you can be a grung!
Dice Rolling
Up to you!
Optional Features
Switch on both options, as these are from Tasha's cauldron and are valid Kantas options.
Advancement Type
It doesn't really matter which you choose here since you'll need to track your levelling separately anyway, but 'Milestone' is probably easier.
Hit Point Type
Either 'Fixed' or 'Manual' is allowed in Kantas.
Use Prerequisites
Switch both of these options on.
Show Level-Scaled Spells
Your choice.
Encumbrance Type
Choose 'Use Encumbrance'.
Ignore Coin Weight
I honestly don't think anybody is going to care whether you switch this on or not.
Ability Score/Modifier Display
Up to you.
Character Privacy
This needs to be set to 'Public' so that DMs and Schedulers can look at your character sheet if they need to.
Race: (on page 2) Turn OFF Legacy Options.
Bear in mind that although this gives you access to all permitted character options for Kantas, it also gives you access to some options that are not permitted, so before you choose an option you will still need to check which source it comes from and whether it's permitted.
