“Ahhh the Flourished Hook my true love. There’s always a smell of… well something in the air, maybe optimism? Ah who knows!”, Celina pondered to herself as she was listening to Vinyama talk about the mission they were about to partake. Vinyama had offered the group Celina was with free drinks on her. Celina 'selflessly' went for the MOST EXPENISVE WINE should could get on the menu. Celina wanted to test the water on how much this Air Genasi was willing to fork out, obviously a lot in this case. “Jackpot, the best kinds of people to deal with... RICH ONES”, Celina thought to herself and looked around at her adventures that were also present. Celina then examined what type of drinks each of her fellow adventurers had ordered at the table. Kelne, the Halfling, had ordered a rather large pint in a stein glass. Varga, the half-orc, had ordered a cocktail and looked like her thoughts were elsewhere while drinking her drink. Sister Velania, the Assamir, ordered a cocktail of just fruit juices – no alcohol. Oziah, the other Assamir, ordered the second/third more expensive wine. She had gone into so much detail asking about how the wine was stored with the bartender, she must really know her wines. And last but not least there was Camwyna (or Cam), a gnome, who also ordered a cocktail but appear she made up her own creation which sounded delicious. Oziah seemed to be the only one who seemed to be on par with checking out the most expensive item, why not take advantage of the situation? Vinyama mentioned they would offer 20 gold each for the mission today. Coincidentally, both Celina and Oziah in sync requested the money to be “30 gold” instead to which Vinyama agreed too in the end. Celina smiled and thought, “Hey this Assamir gets it.”.
Before the group left, Celina asked for one more glass of the expensive wine “to-go”. The bar tender hesitantly looked at her, headed back behind the bar and brought out the expensive wine in an equally expensive looking decanter. He had one condition that it was to be returned when they came back. “But of course I will”, Celina said sweetly to the man, knowing full well that she wasn’t going to return it. This decanter might fetch a good price to the right people.,, And soon enough the adventure group was off. As the group left Oziah went off to the shop to buy some items and when she came back she brought a dead horse… but not a dead horse back… and it had wings and a beak. She called it ‘Deimos’. “Man that’s a strange looking creature. Is it a horse? What’s her dead horse going to do?”, Celina thought to herself but said nothing and carried along with the party.
The group headed down by Lightening Bay, towards the last known location of the other missing adventurers. Celina took out her wine from the decanter and started sipping it. The group came across some dead bodies on the road and everyone goes over to investigate while Celina continued sipping her wine. Lots of clue and theories are being thrown out and discussed. Celina nods in agreement to all of this, having no actual clue what she’s nodding too. Celina started to daydream, “Sure the others can do the work, and I can jump in and stab something if things go wrong – the wine is good. I will probably have to steal a bottle of this stuff when I’m back. Who are you kidding Celina you can’t tell the expensive wine from the cheap wine it all tastes the same! Just smile and nod and act like you know about your expensive wines…. I wonder how much I’ll get for this decanter? 50 gold? Ha that would be amazing”. No one seemed to notice her ignorance. However during this investigation, to Celina the funniest part that stood out was when Oziah asked the group if anyone can track and figure out where the people went. All the while, standing right next to a huge hole with a human shape in the hedge. Celina chuckled to herself and continued sipping her wine.
As they came across the next location Celina stumbled across a man who was clearly dead but his death was unusual. Almost like the killers played a game with his body. “It appears he was part of a game? Hmm interesting style they had”, Celina thought and secretly daydreaming how she would have done it differently. After those clues they all came across an entrance to an old quartz mine which appears to be littered with glassware all over the floor. Kelne casted a spell to help the group to be more sneaky. The whole cave was dark, Kelne wanted to go ahead but she also wanted to cast the light spell. “That defeats the purpose of being sneaky”, Celina mentioned. Celina was tasked with going ahead alone and checking out what was ahead since she had darkvision. As Celina started walking she noticed the distinct sound of glass crunching with every step she was taking. “This is not good”, Celina thought. She stopped for a moment and contemplated how to fix this. And soon enough she had an idea. Celina decided to use thaumaturgy to create a new sound to counteract the sounds of glass crunching. “What’s a harmless noise that could work here? Ohh I know!”, Celina thought excitedly. Then every step Celina took after that no longer sounded like breaking glass, but in fact sounded like goose honking in the distance. HONK HONK. “Genius, no one can hear me now!”, Celina smug with her actions... honk honk.
Celina managed to sneak up and she heard the sounds of people in the cave. She heard them discussing how they killed some people and how happy they were to do it. Celina listened for as long as she could and decided it would be best to get the others up here as well. Celina used “message” to communicate to Kelne what she heard and asked for all their assistance. “Shall we send in the Half-Orc?”, Kelne replied. “YES”, Celina chimed back with a smirk on her face. Varga will be happy to take these people down. The whole party arrived and Oziah rode Deimos up. “Wow, Oziah looks more intimidating than usual. Ha, she’s a badass, I love it”, Celina thought to herself. Before the group knew it, they all barged in to take on a group of murders. The plan was to take one hostage to ask them questions later. Celina decided to run in and thrown her vile of “Oil of Slipperiness” at the enemies, so if they decided to move they would fall flat on their faces. “Hahaha beat gravity you fools”, Celina happily sung to herself in her head. Everyone was glorious on the battle field. Kelne and Cam were able to do some damage with some spells. The most surprising was Velania who is normally the most peaceful person, was just straight up happy to kill all these people outright. It was amazing to watch. “Maybe Velania to learning to like killing? Ha, what a twist!”, Celina considered to herself. Celina sprang into action on her next turn and decided to tie up one of the people that were currently prone. “WE HAVE A HOSTAGE – HUZZAH”, Celina thought and smiled heroically. After all the other people were taken care of, the group started interrogating the hostage. The group learned that this person was doing all this for a female dragon that was made out of glass. That they couldn’t actually control the dragon. They were hoping that the dragon would get bigger and just take out all adventurers in the lands as they hated adventures. Oziah mentioned that this was “the single most stupidest plan they had ever heard”! “Hahah preach Oziah!!!”, Celina thought. “I have an idea! Why don’t we feed him to the dragon?”, Celina mentioned out loud and everyone agreed it was a good idea, even Velania. “HAHAH AMAZING”, Celina's mind happily chimed in.
The group ventured off down further into the caves and came across the huge open area. The hostage started freaking out so we knew we were all in the right area. Then out of nowhere Velania said she spotted the dragon in the distance. And sure enough out came a crystal blue glass dragon. The hostage person died. We all launched into an attack. After a few attacks to the dragon, it decided to bury deep into the ground and disappear out of sight. But the chase was not over. Everyone ran after the dragon and jumped down the large hole towards the dragon. Just before Celina was about to jump she decided it was probably best if she waited up outside the hole in case the dragon came back up. It was definitely that reason and not the fact that Celina was scared to go down the mysterious hole…. Celina scared… never. And before everyone knew it the dragon was slain. Celina heard Oziah rode in on Deimos and took the last blow to finish it.
The group ventured back to Vinyama and explained what happened. Everyone got paid for the job they did. Overall a very good day! Celina and the others went for victory drinks. Celina was beginning to enjoy all these adventurers, maybe one day she’ll open up and tell them the truth that she’s not just a shop keeper. Ha that will be fun until then…
