Report #033
Objective:
Assist three boys, named Louie, Touie and Hughie in the delivery of aid to a newly displaced group of people (the Pholians) near the town of D’Avalon, Harnash.
Sub-Objective:
Assist the Pholian people in setting up a new permanent place of residence where their homes can be suspended properly and the people kept safe.
Team:
Myself
Faust - an elderly tiefling, well dressed and versed in poetry
Laurel - mentioned in older reports
Felix - a dwarf of large voice and guitar
Greebo - mentioned in older reports
Details:
Team gathered at Fort to then be teleported to the city of Trecorvum, Harnash. A place I believe to be on the same continent.
Proceeded to West Gate, where team met by group designated to escort us to D’Avalon. Group was that of travelling performers named Hansel (the leader, a tall tabaxi in faded military garb. Dramatic and larger than life personality), Darcy (tabaxi gymnast always wearing a full body suit), Trevor (a lizardfolk painted? like a mime, certainly acted a mime), and Pip (a very young kobold who liked doing jazz hands, curious and still learning the world).
Escorted by foot with group through woods to D’Avalon, camped for one night. Treated to performance from group, a chaotic but wonderful mix of talents. Team also showcased our performative talents in return.
Walked a few more hours next day to arrive in valley, in its centre a hill containing a large town on top, the town of D’Avalon. Most of housing stone and marble structures, geometric in shape, and a very very large cathedral at the centre of it all.
Upon approach noted the ringing of bells from the cathedral, a loud but nice tune, this resulted in all townfolk immediately stopping what they were doing to listen. Investigation revealed no magical charms or nefarious effects. Were told that the Lady Dahlia decided when the bells rang, every few hours, and all would always stop to listen.
Depart from performing group, arrive at the Roost where we locate its owner Madam Miriam. Roost is cosy establishment and also home to Madam Miriam (a friendly but firm chicken aarakocra) and her three boys Louie, Touie and Hughie (all hummingbird aarakocra).
Madam Miriam informed us her boys were providing aid to a group of people named the Pholians, who had recently been displaced due to invading Corpse Flowers. We were to escort and help the boys, staying in Pholian village a few days, before escorting them back safely.
Faust and Greeo guided boys on best how to pack for an extended stay outside before team and boys departed. Walked to Southern Gate where Pete (human wagon driver) awaited us with wagon full of aid.
Team’s escort through woods was short and without issue.
Arrived at village, greeted by chief Etta (pangolian, appreciative and welcoming). Informed us they’re currently not worried about the Corpse Flowers they ran from, but from possible attacks from the Wolf King as village now stuck on ground. Etta said the village was out of Wolf King’s territory but team still wary.
Pholian huts are woven constructions built to be securly suspended from the trees in environment, wooden walkways built to surround and connect all the huts. For this reason I spent our days in the village scouting locations for them to relocate to, so that they would be safer in the future.
While scouting, with help from Felix, I also looked for signs of wolf pack activity. Found signs on mauled deer carcass. This information and the spotting of a large lumbering figure in the night didn’t seem to worry the Pholians. Too peaceful? Or they just not used to danger and how to be wary of it?
On last night there, Faust and Greebo were keeping watch when a large figure entered and the camp and kidnapped one of the village. Team rapidly engaged with large group of attacking wolves. Some were convinced to leave from Laurel, others taken down with my bolts and Greebo’s magic. All supported by the words and music of Faust and Felix. Eventually it looked to be an encounter turning in our favour. Until a massive wolf charged into the village clearing, their growl so commanding all the other wolves retreated. This had to be the Wolf King, and had to be eliminated.
With team’s combined effort, Wolf King target eliminated.
Team assisted with recovering and healing affected Pholians from attack. Next day escorted boys back to home in D’Avalon. No incidents.
Madam Miriam seemed pleased with outcome, but worried with occurrence of attack. Team assured that her boys had been well behaved, cooperative, and most importantly safe.
Team made way home to Fort via teleportation from Trecorvum.
Conclusion:
Success in escorting Louie, Touie and Hughie to Pholian village to provide aid. As well as keeping them all safe.
Success in helping Pholians in rebuilding village after recent displacement.
Overall success.
P.S. Mum I’ve decided to train another dog to aid in my adventuring and other tasks around town. Her name is Beans, shy but well behaved and I’m really looking forward to more adventures with a new animal friend.
