The sun brings a welcome warmth with it, bathing the docks of Port Ffirst in a comforting blanket of gold in the late afternoon light, only obscured occasionally by a single gull as it circles overhead. For a moment he considered plucking it out of the air but he was enjoying the peace and quiet as the boat rocked gently in the waves. The captain, a grey furred Tabaxi named Tuft, had been pretty clear about wanting it to be quiet as well, and nabbing the bird would likely cause a lot of noise.
He had thought about telling Tuft of the large vessel they found on the seabed, about the various magical traps they had triggered, being blasted out the ship by jets of water and the odd paints and sketch book by ‘Jackie’, although the last painting in there was maybe a little racy for her taste, he wasn’t sure... she didn’t share much. She stretches her lithe form out in the sun for a moment before easing back into her chair, almost in response to his internal musings.
He had even wondered whether she would be interested in hearing of the attack from the enchanted furniture and the desperate race to avoid being frozen to the ship, forever becoming a ghastly member of its vacant crew...
He had considered it…
Instead, Beranwald lazily rolls over on the deck of the small boat to warm his other side, as the seagull continues to circle high above.
Best not to ruin the moment, he thinks…
