"...Okay. I'm pretty sure that we can make this work. It just.. it'll just time for us to get used to each other, yes?"
Squark.
Arkadius had been wandering the streets of Daring for hours, following no specific path and going where his feet took him. He'd walked in circles at least three times before realising that the circle path was taking him right past Jashar's store. On the sixth loop, curiosity got the better of him, and he stepped inside the store to be greeted immediately by a cacophony of different animal sounds. The environment was enough to bring a smile to Arkadius' face as he returned the greetings to whatever faced him. A gorgeous tabby cat, a Labrador puppy... so many different furry friends that all wanted the same thing as him: a home and company.
Arkadius' eyes rested on a black dot on the desk in the corner of the store. The black bird was sitting there, quiet and small, resting. All of Arkadius' attention was drawn immediately, and he walked to the back of the store, swiftly to be followed by Jashar.
"Ah. That poor little one, I found outside the store just a few days ago. She was rather shaken, a young raven that seems to have lost her way and been separated from her family. A sad tale..."
"I will adopt the raven myself, and I will make sure that she grows to be healthy, strong, agile and... Well, for the sterling rescue work you have done, Jashar, you must be thanked and applauded for your work. Allow me to donate handsomely to keep you adequately fed and rested."
Arkadius had made the arrangements, and both him and the raven were back at the Four Fair Winds. The carrying case that Jashar had sold to Arkadius was on the desk, the raven was still inside, apparently more comfortable within her temporary resting place than exploring the new surroundings. Arkadius was sat on the bed, the other side of the room, giving her all the space she needed to accomodate. He'd seen her once, three hours after he'd arrived back in his room and placed her case gently down onto the desk, the door open to allow her to roam. She'd poked her head out of the door space, and sniffed the air. Perhaps she'd never smelt brimstone before... perhaps it would take a little bit of getting used to.
"...Okay. I'm pretty sure that we can make this work. It just... it'll take time for us to get used to each other, yes?" he said quietly to the room, "I mean, it's a new thing. It always takes time to get used to new things. It's natural. I... yes. I'm sure. Everything will be OK. We will be OK"
Arkadius felt a bristling at the edge of his mind.
...Arky, why is there a raven in the room?
