Across the Feywild, scrolls were passed to town criers with news. Singing crystals were tapped delicately with sylvan hammers to disperse new messages. Ravens, pseudodragons, feyfoxes and deer were all tasked with carrying messages far and wide, bringing an important message for all.
Over several Feywildian cities, the message was displayed in the form of a towering image - Queen Morinn, the icy and awe-inspiring Queen of the Winter Court, elegance incarnate in a long white fur that was so delicate as to be easily mistaken for mist. And she began to proclaim:
“People of the Feywild. We have many differences between us, as the Courts exemplify, and this is all for the good. Our infinite variety is what brings us closer to Corellon’s ever-shifting image. There are some ideas that unite us, however.
Recently, the Winter Court has come to learn that a great wrong has been wrought, not within our own kind - for there is a grand scope of permission for the Games Fey Play - but against the weak mortals of the Material Plane. Dread Butcher Ulorian of the Wandering Court infected an entire town with a deadly plague that murdered scores of innocents who had only the most tangential connection to the occurrences at the time. As ideas that unite us as Fey, I hope that unnecessary wholesale slaughter is one we can collectively stand against.
And I do not stand alone - the Twilight Court, the Autumn Court, the Court of Spirits, even the Witching Court and more all stand with the Winter Court on this. Ulorian’s actions are untenable, and we shall not stand for it.”
She stares around commandingly, as if daring any witnesses to protest to her illusory ears.
“You may be enraged by this, as I am, but I urge you not to fall into the trap of seeking retribution through brute force. I call this uncivilised and unwise - violence can never be the answer. It only leads to more of the same, and where does it end? Before the Feywild is soaked in blood we urge Ulorian to come to his senses.
So say we.”
The image vanishes, and murmurings spread through the crowds. Clearly, the Winter Court is leading action against the Wandering Court, and in impressive fashion.
