Celina Zabinski
After months at seas, I, Celina have finally escaped that dreadfully boring place called home. I have now finally arrive to a new place called... Fort Ettin, I believe. Land feels so good right now! Right, this is going to be your new home. We are not going back. Remember Celina, no one can know you're a rogue... You're just a friendly shopkeeper from Faerun... Yes! Apple seller! Ha I'm sure they'll believe that. People can be very gullible to people with a nice smile
Knife hidden... check.
Smile in place... check.
I am all set. Lets see how much money we can get in this city and keeping a low profile! Don't draw too much attention.
I arrive at a banquet hall where I request the finest drink from one of the invisible waiter. When my drink arrives I notice they didn't actually serve me the finest drink, seems just like regular stuff. Well hey, booze is booze. I take a drink and immediately introduce myself to the others sitting at the table. I get introduced to a dwarf named Felix, a half dwarf named Amanita, two Assamirs one called Velania and the other Oziah and lastly another Tiefling called Faust, who appears old enough to be my grandfather. A charming bunch of people. We then get introduced to Coll, a human who sent us all a note it would appear who tells us we need to meet with Cordelia Jade Fist. The journey to her location is a few hours away and unfortunately they have no horses available to bring us... ohh lord if that's the case I will need booze for this journey. I request some booze to takeaway for on the road... thank you invisible little servant person. Hmm when this day is over, I must look into how I can acquire them to work for me in future.... invisible people would be quite handy!
Oziah leads us the way there, seems like she has been here before. That woman needs to lighten up. If I had to guess I say she's a paladin, they're all uptight and serious like that. Oaths and what not. Next thing I know there's some debate over some temple about a lunar crescent and Velaina? Is it Velania's temple? Is it the moon of Velania? To be honest my memory is foggy. Velania's name was mentioned quite a number of times. Who knows what it's actually about, however it's exceptionally funny to watch as Oziah is clearly at breaking point explaining herself over and over about this temple stuff. I am just sitting back listening with my cup of booze. It's not usual that a argument starts and it wasn't a Tiefling that started it. I am intrigued and glued to this conversation. Everyone seems to be adding to the confusion. Chaos! I like this adventure group already. I get offered some leftover snacks by Amanita. Thank you! I tuck right into them. After that whole scene, we finally get shown where we can meet Cordelia Jade Fist. She's easy to spot, with the whole green gauntlet and all. Clearly the person with all the money around here. We get introduced and she tells us what's been happening. A dwarf has gone missing and she wants us to look into it. She advises us that we will get 25 gold each. I work some magic and convince her to pay us more, and 35 gold is now promised... not my best work but seems to be the most this person is willing to go up. I'll take what I can. She promises this amount on the condition we find out what's actually happening to the missing people and bring back the dwarf head. Sounds like a simple job, no problem. I don't see what could possibly go wrong. She points us where we need to go and we're off. Let's go stab something... wait not yet. You're a shopkeeper! Keep cool.
We are advised we need to go explore the tunnels underground and we are brought to a crater with a ladder going down. We all have a quick look down to the bottom and my god is it dark to see the bottom, even with darkvision. Looks like it's miles long. Before I know it Felix, decides to cast a spell which completely lighten up the place. We can all see the bottom now and there's tons of little lights lighting the way, it's so spectacular. Nearly feels like we're going to a party. Before we know it, low and below it's Faust that volunteers to go first down the ladder. I mean go on my fellow Tiefling. However.... ohhhh boy does this guy move so slow. It takes us all so long to get down the ladder but we all make it down to the bottom. Note to self, I am never letting the old man go first again. We all start chit chatting and Felix decides to ask what I do for a living. I tell him I'm a simple shopkeeper. I smile my biggest smile and he buys it. Ha, he doesn't need to know I'm a rogue. Ha maybe one day he'll see my glorious skills in battle.
We start exploring the tunnels and I learn that Faust is actually a bard. He's quite talented actually. He does some sort of poem. When we go explore another room we come across what appears to be a dead dwarf head with wings. It's a horrible creature to look at. Faust does some sort of song. My god do I feel inspired. Let me hit this thing. However, before I get a chance to do anything the rest of the team have it quickly destroyed. The fight is over . Then I become aware of the notion, isn't the head what we were here to find.... nooooo my precious money. I quickly decide to see what I can do to help fix the head and make it look right again. Much to the objection to the other party members... it's unholy... some morale reason here... blah blah blah. I am not really paying attention. I see gold pieces twinkling away in my eyes. Felix decided to lend a hand fixing the head. We decide to work separate on parts. The rest of the party start doing other things. However this reconstructing a head thing is actually a lot harder to do that I originally planned. After a few minutes of working I am done and come to the conclusion, I have salvaged all I can from it. I turn to Felix and hold up my piece and find he's done the exact thing as me. However it appears we were both working on the damn wings rather than the face. Ah it's useless! I pocket the wing anyway, maybe it'll come in handy for something else. My poor money!!!
From there on out we decide to be careful walking around the cave, in case we come across any more of those ugly things. Felix seems to be delighted with himself for some reason and does some sort of dance all around the place. And is Faust also joining in? We march ahead in the tunnels and we wander for what feels like forever. We are most definitely lost. Aren't dwarfs supposed to be naturally good with stone and tunnels? It appears Amanita and Felix are in some talks about stone and stuff. But we don't seem to be getting any closer to finding a way out. Ok, think Celina. Can we feel the walls for a way out - sneakily? Oh wow, the walls are colder here, really unusual. Maybe it's the way out. I must sneakily guide people in this direction. After a short time, yes! Success! We enter a cave and see what appears to be a floating green headed creature with 4 eyes staring at all of us and a silver haired elf that doesn't appear to be like an normal looking elf. What's the word some people use... oh yes Drow. The green headed creature introduces herself as Xianxi. Oh we are so going to kill this thing! Xianxi is quick to announce that they are the reason some people have gone missing. The rest of the party look ready to slice it's eyes and head straight off. However careful now children, Celina needs to ask some questions for her precious gold. Quick bit of flattery will get me what I need to know. Xianxi explains that they have been doing and that they've been taking adventurers and adding them to their group so they can be friends. Sounds like a very sad and ill informed creature but who am I to judge. Xianxi then asks if we're an adventuring group, to which I quickly inform then that we are not and that I am merely a simple shopkeeper out with my shop assistances and body guards. She seems to buy it for a moment, however Oziah comes out of no where and starts attacking this creature. It dies quickly and then the proper fight starts with the Drow. The Drow doesn't seem sad that their partner just died. They even laugh. In other circumstances I would find this funny as well. However not today. Our team all work together to fight this drow and I leap into the air and drive my rapier through their chest for the final blow. Success! Drow gone and dead... toodles.
Glorious work! I feel ecstatic. We manage to loot cave and then make our way out and return to Cordelia Jade Fist. Unfortunately she could not give us the 35 gold pieces each as we did not bring back the head. I try to show the wing I made and Felix quickly shoves it away and out of sites. Goddamit it's like he doesn't even want the extra gold. I take my 25 gold feeling miffed. Well.... guess I'm going to have to find some more ways to get some money. I say goodbye to my fellow comrades for the day and decide to find lodging for the night.
Tomorrow is a new day, so lets see what unfolds and what this new city has to offer! I have finally arrived and it feels great.
