Body:
Coll received letters from all four candidates for the Twilight Throne, but only two were chosen. One by another group which had attempted to help Mesikammen, the other to assist Miandra Gleaming. Our group was the latter and consisted of Osborin, Heret, Elias (also known as Faye), Wil and Ivan. (NB: Little Beastie came along – the goal to get them acquainted with the feel of missions with plans for future, further involvement.) Jenna provided teleportation to Equinox where we promptly met with Gleaming in the alley in which we arrived.
Our party was informed that voting for the next ruler of the Twilight Court was happening later that very day, but there were three tasks Gleaming would like our assistance with:
In order to help us with our task, Gleaming gave us the gift of Seeming so we would not be recognised, and thus allow us to move through the city unhindered. Heret, Ivan and Wil looked like nondescript guards whilst the rest appeared to be generic noble elves. Gleaming warned us that should Seeming drop it would mean she was grievously injured, and we would need to go to the Twilight Palace immediately. (NB: “Then don’t get stabbed. Good luck,” was my reply back. Though the words might have appeared to be flippant, there was no doubt Gleaming would be fine. She is very clever and Cunning after all.)
Decided to split the party into two groups: Elias (with Elchior), Will and PD were to disable the sky chariot located on the Nightside Docks whilst Heret, Osborin and Ivan deliver the book to the Master of Law at the Equinox Libratum.
Wil provided a thunderous distraction whilst Elias and PD – with the help of the Shadows – had snuck close amongst the gathered crowd for Elias to then cast a Dispelling Magic that undid the enchantments. Task completed, with Wil managing to escape away from capture, we set to meet up with the others at the Libratum. (NB: Elias, though not of the Twilight Court, was very efficient in leading us through Equinox, finding shortcuts few would have thought possible, thus cutting down our time to each objective by half.)
We expected the others to be done however their Seemingly disguised mounts were still there. Concerned the task was in jeopardy, Elias spun a tale of needing the help of the Master of Law, stating “our family” were already inside, probably faffing about trying to work out how to approach Asterius. Buchen, escorted us down to where, lo and behold, they had not handed over the book yet.
Elias continued to spin the simple but believable tale of needing someone well versed in legal matters to look at a fey contract. There was a moment where Ivan tried to contribute but his poor “acting” nearly got us all escorted out. Again, Elias managed to spin the situation to their tale and eventually Asterius came over directly to speak to them. Elias, Heret and Asterius went into a private study to look over the book and a few minutes later Elias and Heret walked out, Asterius thoroughly enthralled.
When it came to stopping the Commandant we once again split into two groups: Elias (with Elchior), Ivan and Wil flew/swam out to The Lunar Syzygy to sabotage the sails of the ship whilst the rest of us stayed hidden at the dock in case there was any chance of the Commandant arriving to Equinox another way. The others must have been successful for Zakzak appeared by teleportation not too far from where we hid.
Heret attempted to talk to the Commandant, claiming the Umbral Earl as his employer who wished to speak to him, but Zakzak was able to see through the deception. Acting quickly and stealthily, a surprise attack executed flawlessly on the Commandant took him out, non lethally. He was left in one of the many warehouses, bound and gagged.
With the third task complete, we went to the Twilight Palace to witness the voting and final results of the election. To the surprise of many it was a tie between the Bear King and Gleaming. But something must have happened with the other group of Dawnlanders that resulted in Mesikammen choosing to forfeit his win. Thus the new ruler was chosen.
Miandra Gleaming, Lady of House Caelur, Ruler of the Twilight Court, Queen of Ken and Cunning. Long may her star burn bright in the darkness.
Report passed on 29 day of The Claw of Sunsets.

Hello once more,
You’ve helped me before, and so I trust you’ll help me again. The Twilight Throne election is coming up swiftly, and I could use a handful of capable individuals to help ensure that the next leader of the court is fit for the job. If you’re reading this and we haven’t met before, speak to your colleagues – I pay well and promptly. And more importantly, I’ll remember your aid when I am Queen.
