Hi All,
I've mentioned to a few of you - I'm keen to try out DM-ing in the future. Having only 7 sessions under my belt there are still aspects of the rules I'm getting to know (magic for instance is still a mystery). I know some of you are also keen on trying out DM-ing. So I've had a think about the following:
Beginner DM Sessions
I wondered if anyone would be interested in getting together for an evening (or evenings) in the week (other than Tuesday) to play around. This would be an opportunity for people to try out new characters (for instance I would find it useful to create a lvl 1 magic user to understand more of that area), as well as for new DM's get a chance to stretch those muscles.
We could either play some pre-created adventures, or think about if there are any stories we can explore about these new characters getting access to the Portal and into the Kantas. I'm keen to use the amazing lore we are creating (if others are keen), but without muddying the water of the Tuesday sessions while we learn new characters and skills. If that is the case we can discuss with the DMs.
So to summarise: - New DMs try out running games - The chance to create a new character and understand different abilities/races, without sacrificing Tuesday sessions - Either independent adventures, or think about if we can tie into the Kantas Lore - Weekday evenings (not a Tuesday)
Is anyone interested?

The Sergeant / Alisha this is a great idea and if it give me the opportunity to play instead of DMing I am in. You won't have to worry about any backseat dming unless asked.

I love this idea, though I've already begun DMing a separate campaign with a group of friends outside of Kantas, so I'm not sure how much free time I'll have to join in here. If I'm ever free though, I'd be delighted to join in for a session

Sounds like a great idea. I am pretty new to the DMing stuff so would be interested as a player and as a starter DM

Obviously would be good to get some new faces around, but I'd be keen to tag along if there is space. Would be good to run a magic user to get my head around it.

Great. Let's see if we can get something sorted. Maybe next weekend. We can discuss Tuesday.

I've spent time putting something together for a party of 4, with the idea of new adventurers trying to gain access to the Kantas. It starts in a trading city near Baldur's Gate called Scornubel. Hi, We are thinking next weekend (9th), from midday (prob Saturday if that suits), at a pub near Vauxhall/Kennington. So far we have Dorian and Moth, and need 2 more. Neil and Leocanto you guys free? (Afraid Derek & Nuno can't do next weekend). For those playing: - Create a lvl 1 character of your choice - feel free to use some of the other class options from Unearthed Arcana if you like. - Think about why they want to go to the Kantas - Send me your name, race/gender, class, and any noteworthy details If all goes well, we will see about having other sessions to give more people exposure to DM-ing, and give our DM's a change to play. Equally we could also use this as an opportunity to get some new players involved in the Kantas if that would be useful.
