Okay Dakath, you've spent a month in Waterdeep to get your story straight whilst waiting for word of a portal to Kantas.
You're a sellsword, nothing more, why would anybody care who you are and where you're from?
"Dakath, at your service!"
A wiry Elf with long, brown hair neatly tied back stands to attention. One hand on the hilt of their rapier and a proud look on their face.
"What brings me here you ask? Well to start: I'm on the lookout for an honest day's pay and hear demand is high in Kantas for those in my line of work."
"I am trained as a scout and have spent the last few years in the service of a noble and their house guard. Since being relieved of that duty I travelled to Waterdeep. You see I follow the work, wherever it may be. Debts don't repay themselves."
The pride draining from his face is perceptible.

Shaking himself out of it he returns to the conversation.
"Er where was I? That was it! Let me prove my worth and you will not be disappointed."
