After a few weeks of dismal patronage to his Art gallery, Wee Mad Hamish decides to let go of tension with a few late-night wildshape runs, but sometimes when you meet a Vixen on heat, thing go horribly wrong.
After a few days, the itch around his nether regions was starting to get unbearable, so he decided to escalate his quadrennial bath. He recently heard about Fort Ettin, and though perhaps he could kill two stags with one stone, promote his art gallery and get have the dreaded Bath.
After a few pints in the foyer bar at Fort Ettin, Hamish is joined by some new and old faces, namely; Seraphina, Bones, JZ, Gilbaron and Veridian. And the oddly matched group make their way down to the baths.
A nice fresh young minotaur lays down the rules of the establishment whilst Hamish strips off his tartan, eagerly waiting in the buff to be let in whilst the rest of the group takes their robes to proceed to the changing room and showers, Hamish cannonballs into the nearest pool, which promply changes colour from clear blue to muddy brown. The others take a more calm approach, Veridian setting an ambient mood with some cantrips.
Whist Veridian is getting his groove on Hamish burst out in song:
O waly, waly up the bank
And waly, waly, down the brae
And waly, waly yon burn-side
Where I and my love wont to gae
I leaned my back unto an aik,
And thocht it was a trusty tree,
But first it bow'd and syne it brak,
Sae my true love did lichtlie me.
But as he finishes his schlager, he hears some distant pipe music coming from a room in the back, so he and Gilbaron go to investigate what threats there might be.
Within the room, a figure sits and plays the flute, but as they step in, they’re transported to a tranquil beach and given two options of mind-expanding treatments; “open your mind herb” or “the labyrinth of soul searching”. Being of the small bearded kind, both Hamish and Gilbaron chooses the “herbs”, what could possibly go wrong with Booze, hot water and mind-altering drugs.
Gilbaron encounters his long-forgotten mother, which gives him comforting words, Hamish, on the other hand, is returned back to a time before he had to slay his own parents and is told: “that things are not always as they seem”.
Gilbaron seems perturbed with what he had seen, whilst Hamish shrugs it off as yet another psychedelic drug encounter.
This now seems to have piqued JZs and Veridian interest, and they proceed to the room to see what possibly could have disturbed Gilbaron so much.
Being Bigjobs (not vertically challenged) they choose poorly and take the “the labyrinth of soul searching”, JZ is outraged imminently when they get a vision of themselves as a pauper and asked “why they care”, and terminates their soul search and storms out of the bathhouse.
Veridian, on the other hand, tries to figure out why he cares so much about his father and gaining the power to rescue him, and is left almost in tears.
This encounter turns out to much for the party which promptly mass exits to the Bar, where Bones starts drawing a sketch of Hamishes naked tattooed self, but nevertheless he does not seem keen on exhibiting in Hamishes Gallery. But after a few more pints Hamish sees the stable boy… Billy or Bob his name is, sketching his horses, and he puts on the inspiring words of someone who can turn Billy or Bob or whatever his name is, and his Pet Tapir; Braxton 3rd Trolmondelli, into superstars. So Billy...Bob, agrees to paint yet another glorious portrait of Hamish for his gallery, this time mounting one of the stableboy’s horses...
