The Fey Queen ("Exploding" Chocolate Cake) By Lord Jaezred Vandree
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 ounces of butter
- 6 ounces of Maztican sweet chocolate
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- A pinch of salt
DIRECTIONS:
- Lightly butter and flour the ramekins that you will use for the cake mould. For maximum enjoyment, the author recommends that you use custom-made ramekins shaped like a feminine elf's head and neck. Set the ramekins on a baking sheet.
- Melt the butter and chocolate together and beat the eggs, egg yolks, sugar, and salt until pale and thick.
- Whisk the melted chocolate until smooth and fold into the egg mixture to create the batter. Pour the batter evenly into the ramekins and bake in a pre-heated oven for 12 minutes. Make sure the sides of the cakes are firm and the centre is soft.
- Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, then cover each ramekin with an inverted dessert plate. Turn over, let them stand for a few seconds, then take off the ramekins.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
When you break the crust of the cake with your fork, molten chocolate should "burst" out of it and make for a simple yet delicious and unique dessert. I recommend starting from the neck, if you had your cake moulded in the shape of an elven woman's head as I suggested.
It was the rather eventful Aegis Accords signing at the newly-erected Fort Ettin in Daring Heights that inspired this recipe. Aside from the mediocre hors d'oeuvres, the tasteless wine, a location that doesn't quite live up to "the hype", and the presence of an intolerably smug eladrin troublemaker, it was quite fun, as this author can report. Tragic what happened to Queen Sarah. It must have been the worst thing to have happened to her since losing the Amaranthine Games.
Recipe inspired by this lava cake recipe.

We will need to collate all these recipes into a single book at some point... Inspiration for Lord Jaezred!
