The smuggler’s journal, entry #251 It’s been 2 years since I’ve written on this thing, but life’s getting… interesting again. It’s been a year since I have officially dropped my illustrious hood and stepped out of the underworld’s dark light. Done in the hopes of righting my wrongs in the short life I’ve had so far. It’s all thanks to that person really. Who knew one smile can make such a big difference in a life? Unfortunately, when you have such a stellar reputation in the criminal world such as mine, it’s a bit harder to change other folks’ perspective of you. Be they criminal colleagues or those righteous goody two shoe guards. Soooo…. I fled. And where best to flee from mortal coils of man than the call of death itself? I heard rumours from the grapevine that there’s a new continent to discover. Kantas they called it. But I also heard that, not even one soul returned after a year of ships embarking from our harbour; to sail on the rough seas towards the continent curtained with tall walls of clouds and storms. Not one. Not a single soul to tell a tale. Of course for the dirt bags that I hung with at the time, all said the same thing before embarking for the sea. Where there’s death, there’s money to be made. Regardless of who caused the death. Be it them or the sea. There’s money to be made in death, but the smell of money is a little bit sweeter when given by those who you guide away the gates of hell. No matter how little they give, it still smells like ambrosia to me. So, I journeyed. To run away from my past and to make a life worth living. To keep a long arduous journey short. I made it. To the port of Ffirst. A good place to make a cubby hole for myself. Enough dangerous syndicate in the area to make me feel safe. It’s nice. But I wanted to check out my surrounding first before hunkering down a spot. So I travelled a bit and made my way to what seems to be the epicentre of adventurers in this continent. Daring Heights. And here my story really begins.
