Report #017
Objective:
Expedition to escort Arkadius back to his old home in the Shadowfell, a demi-plane named Fellford.
Team:
Myself
Arkadius
Bones
Sheryl
Faye
Details:
Team gathered in the Flourished Hook before expedition, we made plans to travel to the already known location of a temple of the Raven Queen in the Shadowfell. Arkadius thinks a connection can be made with the Raven Queen so that she can inform him of the location of his old home’s demiplane, named Fallford.
Team required assistance of Tsue, a member of the Harmonious Order who maintains the teleportation circle at the lighthouse. Tsue accepted the request for teleportation at a cost, including a method of return through a golden magic pin.
Team promptly teleported to the Shadowfell. Myself and Faye scouted the location of the temple and any dangerous presence there. We found a number of humanoids of pale skin and hair had reclaimed the temple premises. Reconvening with the team revealed that this reclamation of the temple was somewhat expected.
A peaceful and open approach was decided, as our true intentions were to only speak to the Raven Queen at the temple. On approach we were all mentally contacted by an unknown voice in our heads. I was informed by this voice that a ‘Child of light was not welcome here’. Our approach proved successful as we gained entry to the temple by combination of Bones being a follower of the Raven Queen and with very strong persuasion from Sheryl.
Upon entering the temple we found a p

Wren crumples up the report in their fist, dropping the ball of paper on the bed next to where Stripes is busy admiring a small pile of shiny buttons.
“I can’t send Mum this report Stripes. We helped Arkadius, we helped that family in that crumbling demi plane. But I went to the Shadowfell and like met the Raven Queen, kinda I think. How does an aspect of a god work again?”
Unsurprisingly there is little response from Stripes, whose attention is currently occupied.
“Anyway, Mum is gonna freak if she finds out about the whole god meeting stuff. Eating corpse offerings and walking through a nightmare trial thing. Nearly getting lost in said nightmare thing. Jumping into some demi-plane being invaded by githyanki, I think that’s what the others called them at least, and watching Arkadius rapidly age right in front of our eyes! Actually, she might not even believe it at all. Cause now that I’ve said all that aloud it sounds bonkers.”
Wren pauses, now deep in thought about all the possible reactions their Mum could possibly have, before they flop down on the bed next to Stripes. Stripes picks up their favourite button and bumbles over to nestle against Wren’s side so that Wren can give them plenty of head scritches.
“Those githyanki were tough as well, couldn’t even seem to hide properly from them half the time. Really threw me on my fighting approach, I hate going close combat. Anyway, I won’t send the report, Mum doesn’t need to know about all that” They say as they wave their unoccupied hand in the air at nothing in particular.
“But what is important is that no one died on our side and I have a definite target from within these walls. Soros Lenoir is going down and I won’t stray from my path to do it, no matter what that nightmare place said.”
They pick up one of the other shiny buttons Stripes isn’t playing with and hold it up above their face, letting the light catch the shiny edges. Much more quietly they mumble “That reminds me, I need to do more coin distribution again. But is it really enough?”
They continue to slowly turn the shiny button in their hand, a frown forming on their face as the cogs of their mind gradually turn behind golden glowing eyes.
