Time for Flowers (7/7/20)

The main road between Port Ffirst and Daring Heights is quiet at this time of day, with the sun sitting low in the sky many have already retired for the night into inns and homes alike. BB is slowly making her way towards the familiar turn off that takes her home to New Hillborrow, her bare feet making a quiet scuffing sound against the well worn dirt road. Cradled in her arms is another resident of New Hillborrow, Phalange, who BB is simultaneously petting and inspecting their skeletal form.
“You’re very lucky you know Phalange. Paw did some amazing work in extracting your spine from that dead cat. I can’t see a single scratch on here.”
Phalange just seems very content with the constant attention, giving off dissonant purrs as BB continues to give them scritches. With an air of disbelief she now addresses Blue who has been perched on her shoulder the whole time watching the proceedings.
“I’m still surprised we managed to pull it off Blue. I’m not really well versed with necromancy, but it just goes to show how far some help from your friends will go. But I do hope we didn’t scare Ziarae off, she really got thrown in the deep end of chaos with us, and she seemed nice you know.”
Chirurp!
“Yes, yes, I suppose. She was very enthusiastic to get stuck in. I shouldn’t worry”
Blue gives a reassuring and rapid nod from their perch.
“Oh, I never asked, but how did your little playdate with Sho go? You two seemed to be having fun.”
Chip chirp trill
“Hmmm hmm. I’m not surprised, it’s Paw after all, I doubt she would have an owl friend who wasn’t lovely and chill.”
At this point the trio come to the turning in the road that leads to New Hillborrow, BB giving a slight nod to the statue of Sheela Peryroyl on the roadside as she passes. Suddenly a deep sigh escapes BB as all her thoughts seem to catch up with her.
“But at the end of the day, as nice as it was to work with Ghesh again and see the others. I still messed up Blue. I mean I guess it was a good thing to destroy a lich’s phylactery, and that Phalange is still okay, but a destruction threat?! That’s certainly new… I think for once I should step up to the fight first, I don’t want this Necrodancer coming to New Hillborrow. Maybe set a date and time??”
BB trudges forwards, deep in thought as she still gives Phalange scritches.
“Although I will say, the Necrodancer did have a very good singing voice.”
