Pieni, Igrainne (RETIRED), and 3 more like this

Cadfan wiped his hand across his forehead, the summer heat was getting to him, and with his attempts to wipe away the sweat he had instead managed to just replace it with white paint. Well at least it wasn’t on his hands anyway.
He looked up at the vacant shack he had managed to rent in Daring Heights, the new site for his honest business, well somewhat honest business.
-
Months, Cadfan had been here, and he had not found the chance to ingratiate himself with the local criminal underground. After all if he was going to find a way to make more money on the sly, then he needed connections.
First he needed a building.
The month after the incursion form Avernus seemed to provide this opportunity. People were distracted, homes needed to be rebuilt, and the economy needed a boost. Who would blink an eye at an entrepreneur trying to start a new business when life needed to start getting back to normal in Daring. And so they gave him a shack.
Next he needed a patron.
He had spent some time in the Red House during his stay in Kantas. Got to know the locals. And so he tracked down the Notorious D.O.C. A brief conversation, a drink shared, and Cadfan walked out of there with a new business partner. They’d have a place where they would leave their misbegotten things and find gold dragons in their pockets in exchange.
And then he needed a reason.
He’d always thought about running his own pub, much like his dad still did back in Fae’run. And through a need to make some gold to fund his room in the Ettin, he had found skill with brewing. The shack wasn’t quite the size for holding drunken revelers, but he could sell his brews to those who needed one when they were on the go.
And so he opened a microbrewery inside that shack.
-
With one last flick of the brush, Cadfan finished painting the sign. “Mask's Meads & Other Momentous Brews.” An interesting name for the layman, a more interesting one for those in the know.
He placed the sign above the door. What he looked at was a shack no longer.
No, it was the new staging ground for Cadfan in Kantas.
