This is from before the party leaves so it's spoiler free for the session proper

A flurry of activity fills Portal Plaza. Towards the centre Jenna floats, a haze of purple energies surrounding her as Wendy stands by with a pie in one hand. A troop of Crimson Fist soldiers salute to their commander before turning to march through the portal in front of them. A wine merchant's store facing onto the plaza stands with doors thrown open, its usual prime location transformed into a staging area for medical equipment. The owner stands in the doorway coordinating the movement in and out as his stock sits pushed to the side on the curb.
A cry from behind drags Alenea back to reality and she turns to see Pieni and Zharifa barreling towards her down the street leading a train of tables. She leaps out of the way and the crate in her arms threatens to tip over. She looks around, unable to see the wagon she had been following.
"Oi! Over here!" cries a voice.
She turns to look for the voice and spots the wagon with its front half disappearing through another portal. A man on top sits with his head head ducked to fit through. "Hey! Wait!" she yelps, running towards him, hoisting the box above her head and managing to push it onto the back of the wagon moments before the rent in space slams closed infront of her.
---
An hour later Alenea sits slouched forwards at the feast savoring the last bite of honey roasted pepper from her plate, "This is really good."
Ruk glances sideways at her before resuming, "I can simply fly up to the tower by myself if it comes to it, it will be no issue for me to handle this all alone."
"Alone? On a flying tower in hell? By yourself?"
He thrusts his chest out, "Of course, a simple matter for a wizard as powerful as myself."
Alenea rolls her eyes, and waves her fork towards him, "This isn't our usual 'angry wereboars terrorising the countryside'. This is descending into Avernus itself. You've read the same stuff I have. Blood, guts, and gore. This is going to be grim."
Laurel looks pale beside her.
Across the table Ankhet looks up from her plate, "Hmm... Yes... This will be... difficult."
Alenea nods, "Exactly, difficult."
---
"Be bold, and may the Light watch over you all."
Alenea straightens in her seat as the speech finishes, a shiver passing through her. He's very good at that she thinks to herself as she claps, her eyes lingering on Varis as he strides away from the group.
Eventually she tears herself away and turns back to see a tall man standing over her, he coughs into his hand, "Excuse me. As you will have quite a journey head of you it has been determined that you will be leaving earlier than the other groups. If there is anything you all need to do before leaving, you must do it now."
"Shit, I'll just be a few minutes."
---
Alenea stands in front of BB, "So, we tried all the shops but nobody has any sending scrolls. You wouldn't happen to have a spare we could purloin?"
"Of course!" BB says, rummaging in her bag before pulling out a tightly bound parchment, "Here you go."
"Thank you, we almost forgot!" Alenea says, unfurling the scroll to admire the angular inscriptions. "I really hope we can work this," she says as she rerolls the scroll and slips it away. She looks up, frowning at the group, "We're heading through now."
"You'll want this then," BB says holding out a small bouquet and smiling, "For good luck."
The frown melts into a smile as she takes the flowers and slides them into her hair.
"Thank you, I better go."
A chorus of well-wishing raises up from behind BB as Alenea turns to leave.
"Good luck!"
"Raise a little hell!"
She looks over her shoulder as she begins to jog away, laughing as she calls back, "Just an itty bitty hell."
She jogs back to Portal Plaza, the smile fading away as the reality settles in that as quickly as her new family grows it may all get ripped away.
---
Wendy turns to the group as they approach "And you are all heading to?" she pauses to think for a moment, "Ah yes, Avernus!"
The light pouring off of Jenna intensifies as the air in front of her ripples and a sharp rectangular door opens before them, the dim light of the other side wavering.
"Please, be careful."
