Another out-of-character summary, pending in-character write-up.
- Coll arrived at the Ettin fresh from an emergency Council meeting and said news was arriving from K'ul Goran that a planar rift had opened and devils were coming through. He urged the random assortment of adventurers who were present to come and help.
- The random assortment were: Laurel; Avalan; Heret; Igrainne; Cadfan; Wren.
- The party assembled hurriedly in Portal Plaza, where Aurelia and Jenna had paused all commercial traffic and were conferring urgently. They teleported the party not to the permanent circle at Zot Goran but directly to a field somewhere south of Maray.
- The party found 80 to 100 K'ul Goran soldiers formed up in front of a spinning wall of chains that formed a 30ft perimeter around a flickering, sparking rift in the air. The soldiers were shooting arrows over the wall and being volleyed with javelins from the far side of it.
- On reporting to the command tent the party met local commander Grimbilt(?), mage Nikolaus Morwing(?), and Cloris Skysplitter of the Errant Guard. Those three explained that the portal had opened about two and a half hours before, and the soldiers were the nearest military unit, who had come to try to contain the emerging devils as soon as they'd heard the news. They had not been fully successful, but had done enough damage that the devils had put up the wall of chains around the portal to protect themselves and buy time to mass behind it.
- The party were asked to help with one or more of three tasks: (a) piercing the wall and taking out the devil who was sustaining it; (b) intercepting a group of yugoloths that had got out and headed toward Zot Goran, probably intending to cut off the reinforcements that were on their way from the capital; (c) chasing a flock of imps that had escaped northward toward Maray. The party decided to help ensure the reinforcements from Zot Goran got through.
- Three soldiers took the party in hillsurfers (with Heret riding alongside) on the road to Zot Goran. After an hour or so they came upon the reinforcements, finding that the yugoloths had just got to them. The troop transport wagons had halted or crashed and the soldiers were beginning to suffocate under a cloud of green gas conjured by four mezzoloths. Their leader, a nycaloth, introduced the group of fiends as 'Revoke and his Resolute Agonies'.
- After a hard battle, the party (and the K'ul Goran soldiers who they managed to free from the gas) killed Revoke and all four Resolute Agonies. Some soldiers had died but about 140 survived.
- The party returned to the portal with the reinforcements. By the time they got there the portal had widened to about 6ft wide and the chain wall had expanded to a 50ft radius. About half of the local soldiers had been killed. The local commander thanked the party for their help as the reinforcements joined the fray.
- The commander sent word back to Daring Heights that the party were ready to return, but asked them to be ready to come and help again soon. Teleported back to Portal Plaza, the party found that Jenna and Wendy(!) were magically enhancing the teleportation circle to 'accommodate additional transport requirements' (in Jenna's words).
- Next week's games are likely to be set a couple of days after this one.
