Zinrel Lathalas has had a great day.
She was still new to this city and finding her feet as an adventurer. Being hired by the pompous merchant to recover some stolen items had seemed like more of a job for the local watch but she wasn’t about to turn down some work.
The crew she was lumbered with this time were thinkers at least for a change, rather than the normal muscle heads that just wanted to break everything. They had even planned together, pooled their resources and bought provisions, including a scroll to disguise herself so she could get into the warehouse as one of the workers without any suspicion at all. It had been the smoothest job she had ever been part of. It went so well, she even broke her normal rule and elected to join the others for a post work drink. It may have still been the early afternoon but today’s success called for a celebration.
The scroll though had been a strange one. Alenea Hanali had seemed fairly competent so she had no reason to doubt her ability when she bought it. Zinrel had used one just like it before but it never made her feel so…. strange? She had been thinking about it as the group of them continued to drink for hours and everyone gradually began to loosen up and become drunk on the strong wines they were sampling, she came to an astounding realisation. She was… Sober? That can’t be right? She counted her drinks…. One, two, three……. FOURTEEN!? How in the Hells was she still Sober?
She told the others who doubted her of course. But she was persistent and indicated the many bottles around them and her correct posture despite the quantities of alcohol imbibed. The others agreed, leading to the only reasonable response for a group of intellectuals to come to: The pursuit of truth through decisive and meaningful experimentation. Namely, Vodka.
The day became night and the intrepid adventurers found their way onto a new quest, to discover the limits of Zinrel’s inexhaustible sobriety. For one night at least, Zinrel was not the nature goof who quoted Scalanis Luxidor’s “Herbarium Thaumaturgica”.
She was having fun.
She was popular.
She was Zinrel “The Unquenchable”!
