“Hey Sho, fly around the islet and back to me, please” Paw says softly while gently scratching her head.
“♪♫!” Sho takes off and starts flying in a big loop. Mid-flight Sho sees a large dragonfly buzzing near a group of bushes. She swoops down and catches it without a noise. Perched on the bush she enjoys her meal before flying back to Paw.
“♪♫!♪♫♪!”
“Well, that was not quite what I had in mind, but training takes time. You just took a life, Sho, but there is balance in what you did. You are honourable.
“I really hope you will find true balance here, Sho. I took responsibility of you when I hid you in my satchel. I thought they might kill you just for sport, but maybe you were used to them? Where you born on the Island? You seem so young still.”
“Time to go back. I wish I had my quarterstaff still, Remember how you perched on the yarn threads on its tip? it was one for each of the true friends I have ever made. Too bad the quarterstaff is gone. Or probably a good thing Paw, Tsugaru-san would have said! Body and mind, that is all that matters for balance”
“I have another staff in Port Ffirst - if Jedd has not sold it. I will practice with it and fashion a nice tip for you to perch on, Sho, you shall see! Time to go back now, I know you quite like the night. I do too, but it is getting very cold now and I know you are used to a hotter climate. Come now, stay still just a moment, let me fashion a nice quilt of sorts out of these clothes. I have others in my room still, I hope! They will make your satchel bag much warmer and maybe you can even have a little scarf at some point. Ahah! It is fine silk, Ernetta knitted it for me.”

"Out of the bag, Sho! Don't hide under the sheets"

"What is it with this freezing wind anyway? OK, I give up, Sho. Back to Old Town tonight."

Week Three
"There you go, Sho! Fly around the Quay now, up, as high as you can go!"
"♩♬♩♬♩♩"
Paw hides while Sho is away on the other side of the Quay. The little owl lands a few seconds after on a leafless bush near where she had taken off. She cocks her head to the left, slightly puzzled, and waits.
"♩?"
"Well done my friend! Well done" exlaims Paw jumping out of her hiding spot. "This is so well done, Sho!"

"Sho, I am going to go now, but you stay on that bush, please."

"uhm, yes, ♩ exactly, Sho... I wish Pieni were here now"
Sho takes off as soon as Paw takes a step and flies in circles over her.
"Right, Sho, maybe we should try meditating first..."
"♩!"

DTA Pet Command Training: Wait (2/2 weeks)
After an hour spent trying to meditate with Sho firmly determined to groom her, Paw manages to expand her Ki enough to include Sho's aura. The owl perches on a bush and quietens. She says put when Paw leaves an hour later.
'Well done, my dear. Well done'

"Well done, Sho. I am proud of you."
"𝅘𝅥𝅘𝅥𝅱𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥"
"Let us meditate a while longer, my friend. Close your eyes. I shall be here when you open them again."
Paw darts off as soon as Sho closes her eyes. She comes back to the little cove only two hours later, Sho's eyes still gently closed.
"What a good monk you make, my dear Sho!"

As soon as Paw shows her a morsel of food, Sho flies over to grab it.
"Sho, the food is not going to disappear if you wait. You just need to keep meditating a little while longer. Please, believe me, it will still be there"
"♩!"
"Very well. Let us head back to town. We shall continue to train together"

DTA Pet Command Training: Move (2/2 week)
A week later Sho's mood has improved more than the weather near Port Ffirst. Paw is concluding her usual six hours of solitary training.
"♩♬♮!♩♬♮!! ♩♬♮!♩♬♮!!"
"Hey, Sho, thanks for all these pecks, I love you too. It is... it is really helping my training. Hey!"
"Now you need to do something for me Sho. Please go there and wait for me." With her staff, she points at a tree stump a few yards from them.

DTA Pet Command Training: Find (2/3 weeks)
Time flies when you are having fun, or spend your days training outside on solitary islets in the winter cold of the Dawnlands.
Paw has spent the past two weeks hiding objects for Sho to find. It's now time to make things a little more difficult. Paw picks up five tiny pebbles.
"Sho, I'll run ahead and hide these. Your task is to find them as quickly as you can"
"♩♬♮!"
"You sound sure of yourself. Very well."
"♩♬♮!! ♩... "
Paw darts off running straight for the shore. Sho takes off and goes after her. She is immediately more than 200 feet behind. Paw runs on the sea surface while quickly dropping the pebbles. One by one they sink down in the shallow water.
As Sho catches up, Paw smiles "You can do it, Sho! Focus and ... "
A voice in Paw's head has her stop mid-sentence.
"Hello, Ms. Quick-White, this is Magister Manyvoices. I have a message for you from Mrs Thistletop..."

"May I please have a sour milk, Jedd?"
"Ho, so you are not dead!"
"I beg your pardon?"
"Nothing, just a friendly bet... but pay no mind. Room is still yours. One sour coming right up" He sighs.
"♪♫!!!!!!"
"Very well, Sho. And some worms, if you do not mind, Jedd"
"What???"
"Some... bread, I meant, yes. My apologies. By the way, where is everyone?"
"I'll be damned if I know. Or care!"
