Dear Paladin Gara Wavecrasher,
I hope you and the High Priest are fine. I came to the Temple this morning, but I couldn’t find you. You can reach me at the Seashank if you need help. I am sure you do, Milady told me so.
This morning I wanted to ask the High Priest and you if you knew flying sailors exist. Did you? I surely didn’t. Milady Umberlee told me to answer the call for help of this Stedd the Human. Master Stedd was a sailor - I immediately realised why Beautiful Umberlee had directed me in his direction when I met him for the first time some weeks ago. He had gathered a group of Faithful, most of whom I have met while doing Umberlee's work: Jacinta the Halfling, Bubbles the Tiefling, and Traavor the Half-elf - such a shy Devout he still is, my Darling Umberlee.
Well, Master Stedd wanted to rescue a flying ship full of Faithful, obviously I was happy to offer my help. We used magic to locate the vessel. However, we didn’t quite succeed. Oh Paladin Gara, my understanding of the events is limited, I am afraid. We arrived as close as we could to this Airborne Vessel of Faith, yet we were attacked by wild fire creatures, maybe fiery dire raccoons? Who can say? Milady Umberlee could. We were victorious however, and that led us to a fortified camp that I was told held the Faithful airborne sailors captive. Such is the destiny of the people of Faith in these lands, it seems!
We entered the camp at great cost, however a red dragon was waiting for us on the other side. Oh well, that didn’t go swimmingly for us. There was a lot of screaming. Mostly from Bubbles. I can’t quite say what happened because Milady All-knowing Umberlee told me to run away. I swear on my life, Paladin Gara, I asked Her what to do and that was the answer! It pained me to follow Her will, but that is my duty. Had she asked, for example, to sacrificed myself and my companions, of course I would have done it in a heartbeat, imagine the Glory! But She did say Run! I asked twice, just in case.
Anyway, as I was running, I remembered I had a stone that could be used to call this Aurelia the Glorious Stone Angel. For the life of me, I had forgotten I had it! And yes, this powerful Aurelia was involved in the magic I mentioned at the beginning. Maybe I should have told you so at the start of this letter. Back to Aurelia, though. I called her and run back to the encampment. Bubbles was becoming friends with the dragon, I think. Not sure, I have to say. She was offering gifts, but there was also a lot of muffled crying and sobbing all around. I don’t care for treasures, so I gave away my magical statuette. Small cost to show the Love of Umberlee to that - rather unreasonable I have to say - creature. He didn’t show any gratitude to Umberlee the Fair, however, so when Aurelia opened a way back to Daring Heights I hit him a couple of times with my Umberlee’s Blast.
We tried to save the sailors by the way, even against the dragon. We failed. Pity. We can go back and show that dragon the Wrath of Umberlee anytime. Aurelia said so.
Hope to see you at the Temple tomorrow, you still need to get back to me about my scheduled appointments with the High Priest. I’m sure you are very busy, sorry. Umberlee just told me to remind you.
Yours in Faith
