Dear High Priest Donnovan,
I get that all my meetings with you have now to be agreed in advance with Cleric Kiera Lowbuckle, seconded by Paladin Gara Wavecrasher, and finally be approved by the Seer. You are busy doing my Lady’s work, after all. You didn’t say anything about letters though, so here is mine to you. Milady wants me to keep you apprised of my deeds in Her name.
She spoke to me only two days ago! Clearly, I was right taking on this job for Sir Ginead. He is a very well-spoken man and a devotee to our Umberlee the Bountiful. He was shy about it, but I can always tell, trust me. He seems to run a colony of Faithful on a fairly remote island east of Port Ffirst. He has encountered strong resistance from the part of pagan monstrosities, but I was able to help with that. The life of the colony is hard and they need some rare flowers to stay healthy while they worship Beautiful Umberlee. The vile creatures prevent them from harvesting those flowers safely.
As my companions and I discovered more about his plight, my Wonderful Lady talked to me! Oh how much I love Her, Donnie. Can I call you Donnie, High Priest? Well, She does when mentioning you, so I am sure it is fine. Anyway, She told me another power was challenging Her on the island. So, you see, I was confirmed in my intuition that exterminating this threat was Her bidding. And so we did! We walked until we entered a large swamp. There we saw the rare flowers. I was impatient to please Milady and gift her a bouquet of them, but my companions stopped me.
Madame Agustine is always shouting things like “Can you please stay still for a second?!” or “Don’t kill this, don’t kill that!” so I didn’t pay much mind to her. However also this Markas the Monk, and this very skilled Levion the Elf insisted. So I stopped. And then, this - very refined I must say - Kallista the Tiefling gifted us with magical “toortle-necks” - I think that’s what she called them at least. Itchy under my shell, if you ask me, but they made us very silent. And then the monster reared their pagan heads and we fell them. And that’s 1-0 for Umberlee, surely.
Oh, we had a guide. Some Randall human. He was disrespectful to my Fair Lady. What do you think my Love would like me to do in such cases? I did try to kill him, I must say. So, if that’s what She wants, at least I tried. If that’s not what She wants, however, at least I failed.
All the very best,
Onno
P.S. Don’t worry about our Saviour calling you names when she speaks to me. That She does, a lot. I can’t deny that, but I always remind Her that you are a faithful devotee, as best you know how.
