Dead reckoning - take four

I recount, now, the most recent quest of Daring’s denizens, delving deep into the dangerous depths of the Feywild. As befitting a tale of that ancient plane, an equally timeless style seems fitting - interconnected Haiku, y’all:

We met in t’Ettin
Adventurers old and new
To crush the undead.

Daisy, Demik, Scott,
Dvärgar, Varis, and Lachlan
And Coll, the barkeep.

Seeking divine help,
The magnificent seven
Approached Seluné

Silvery goddess
Illuminating the path
Beacon of guidance.

We retraced old roads
And met old friends, the were-tribe:
Noble shape-shifters.

We (re)learnt the tale:
The Fey Who Dreamt, his lover,
And a third shadow -

How strife and hatred,
Jealousy and enmity
Killed love; birthed evil.

Weed smoked, questions asked,
Gen’stel brought us to the Fey
Wild place, source of pain.

We beheld a lone,
Vast, ancient tree - corrupted.
Proud nature, brought low.

Descending through roots,
We followed a stream.
Rushing black waters.

To a calm deep lake?
No! We had disturbed the sleep
Of a primal beast.

A leviathan,
Subterranean watcher.
Unseen and deadly.

Your bard stood and stared,
Useless: watching companions
Dive! Fight! Sink! Rise! Fall....

There! A tentacle!
A moment of pure panic,
Scroll! Spell! Altered shape.

The fiend - now an owl -
Captured underwater in
A bag of holding.

Brought to the surface:
Dispatched. Safe once more, we search,
Finding wealth. And death.

A strong dwarf’s cunning
Revealed a hidden alcove.
Within, an odd prize.

Entombed in ruby,
Frozen, a tiny figure -
The Archfey’s lover?

We leave, warily.
Carrying knowledge and doubt
Back to Daring Heights.

Some questions answered;
More, though, uncovered and new.
The myst’ry unsolved.

We seek mystic gen:
Should we unlock the prison
And free the captive?

Or do we prepare?
Surely the jailer draws near
To reclaim his bride.
