Baine can't help going back. Just once or twice, every now and then. Just to check that he's still in there.

He never takes Phil out of the cupboard, he's just... making sure.
He almost picked him up once, but a voice in his head that sounded an awful lot like Sunday warned him against it.
There's nothing wrong with his Max; it's beautiful and just the right weight and perfectly balanced and he made it himself. But he can't help but think of that time with the hellhounds, when Sunday cast a spell on it and for a short, glorious moment, it was like fighting with Phil again. Better than that even.
He's sat in the Crimson Fist armoury, staring at the Cursed Weapons cupboard when a sudden gust of wind blows in through the open door.
It's carrying a note which lands on his face with remarkable precision.
