Drifting in through the saloon doors, a figure approaches the main bar and asks if they might possibly trouble the bartender for a mug of spiced wine. After paying for the drink and having the noticeboard pointed out to them, they take a few minutes to peruse the various jobs and opportunities on display. They buy a second drink and stay a while talking to the bartender, introducing themselves as " Skylerian Morningdew. But, please, call me Sky". |

I think Grimblefoot is the mayor of the Vorsthold, not of Daring Heights. This doesn't seem to be a commission from the Council of Daring.

As I understand it, the position was abolished after the first mayor (Daffles) disappeared and municipal government was taken over by the Council. I don't think the Council formally has a leader.

Well, I'm a creature from a meta-dimension inhabited by the spirits that animate various entities in your world. I currently inhabit the bodies of two people in Daring, one named Taffeta Thistletop and the other Heret Velnnarul. You can't actually perceive my presence so this conversation is quite odd and probably non-canon (which is what we call things that we experience in our dimension but that never happened in your timeline).

She puts out the cigar in an overflowing ashtray and planted her elbows on the desk, staring intently into Sky's eyes. "I'm sorry, detective, but I'm a lone wolf. I've been walking on this lonely road, alone, ever since I left the Watch, which I did in spite of having closed hundreds of cases because I was guilt-ridden by the one mystery I couldn't solve--the murder of my wife.
